NCMC Annual MeetingThe Winston-Salem museum community offered a program that examined and challenged the many contemporary issues that face our institutions, from governance to finances. The theme of the 2006 conference, Survival of the Fittest, recognized that museum work has become increasingly more difficult as we face budget cuts, limited staff, a changing public, and personal burn-out. The event was held March 1-3, 2006.
A program highlight was the keynote address by Dr. Doug Borwick of Salem College. Borwick, appointed the Salem Distinguished Professor in 1997, currently coordinates of the arts and not-for-profit management programs. The text of his presentation can be found here.
Below is the schedule kept during the 2006 NCMC Annual Meeting.
