Reed Gold Mine is the location of the first documented discovery of gold in the United States. This site includes a visitor center, underground guided tour, operational stamp mill, gold panning area, and several nature trails. This position is responsible for a wide variety of visitor services, including guided tours, the operation of the sales desk, and panning for gold.
Applicant must be able to stand for long periods of time, work outdoors in summer temperatures, be comfortable working with large groups of children, and lift items of up to 25 lbs. This position requires an ability to provide excellent customer service to a diverse audience and a willingness to learn about industrial history from the 18th-20th centuries.
This posting is for two (2) positions both of which will be needed to support the start of our Spring/Summer panning season which begins March 1st. This is an hourly position which pays $7.25 per hour. This position is expected to work between 20-28 hours weekly with shifts during the week as well as on Saturdays. The site is open from Tuesday-Saturday 9:00 am-5:00 pm.
