Job Description: Under limited supervision, performs planning, administrative and supervisory work in managing the historical sites and museums for the county; does related work as required. Work includes technical management and direction of sites and museums along with educational programming, budget development including both annual and capital recommendations, oversight of program development, development of policies and procedures, and personnel management. Work involves public contact with school groups, private groups, civic organizations, county, state and federal officials, and the general public in the promotion, development, operation and maintenance of the various sites and programs. Reports to the Tourism Director.

Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in museum studies, History, Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field, and 3 to 5 years of experience in curation; 2 to 3 years supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Hiring Salary Range: $66,502
